Clarita's Filipino Cuisine
About This Spot
Clarita’s Filipino Cuisine is a quietly unassuming spot tucked into the heart of Sunnyvale, where the hum of everyday life gives way to the rich, comforting aromas that mark a true home-cooked meal. As you step inside, the pace naturally slows, inviting you to settle into a space that feels familiar—a simple sanctuary where food has a way of wrapping itself around you like an old sweater. The atmosphere is modest and practical, a genuine neighborhood place that doesn’t fuss with frills but instead puts its energy into the essentials: good food, friendly faces, and a sense of belonging.
Here, the kitchen hums with the kind of care that comes from cooking for family. There’s a trusted rhythm to how dishes arrive—carefully composed plates that balance tender, savory flavors with humble, hearty ingredients. Whether it’s a warm bowl brimming with slow-simmered adobo or the bright, refreshing layering of a halo-halo for dessert, each bite feels like a quiet invitation to experience a little slice of Filipino everyday life. The portions are generous, the flavors linger, and there’s a down-to-earth spirit that welcomes those seeking a reliable, authentic meal away from the bustle.
The connection between staff and visitors extends beyond service; it’s a gentle nod to community, where familiar patrons are treated like family and newcomers quickly feel rooted. While the dining room may carry the humble marks of a well-worn space—intent on function over flair—the warmth radiates through the people and food alike. It’s a place where the comfort of classic, homemade Filipino cuisine shines brightest amidst the straightforward surroundings.
For those who come with a hunger beyond the familiar, Clarita’s offers a culinary pause, a moment to appreciate the layers of flavor and home-style care without pretense. It’s the kind of spot that quietly earns its place in the local routine—a steady beacon for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Filipino tradition wrapped in heartfelt simplicity.

Amazing home style filipino food for a reasonable price. Large portions. Always stop here when I'm in the area. Great on a cold rainy day.

Homemade Filipino food. The food looked fresh and the location was clean. I ordered the pork adobo, longanisa and rice. It was fantastic even though I knew it would be a bit on the greasy side. Staff is very friendly and made you feel like family. It was lunch time and the place is well known by Filipinos working and living in the area. Great place to have Filipino food!

They were closing and only had chicken or pork adobo left. The owner graciously offered a serving of both. The pork adobo was the best I've ever had, even compared to adobo I've had in the Philippines. The chicken was a little dry but still pretty tasty.

Great food, service and prices are good. However, the atmosphere inside feels like a dungeon, dark painted ceiling tile and poor ventilation.

Had flan and the fish and egg cakes with rice was the best one of my favorite places
